Interlibrary loan focuses on borrowing items from other libraries to meet needs, not removing items. Metadata involves the information that describes items to aid discovery, not deciding what to keep or discard. For example, a well-worn book that rarely circulates and is outdated might be weeded to free space for more relevant or in-demand titles.
